ACTRESS Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street) is reading at a special literary dinner at Prestwichs award-winning Aumbry restaurant on Wednesday, June 5.
Chef/proprietors Mary Ellen McTague and Laurence Tottingham have created a four course meal based on Sybille Bedfords 1956 novel, A Legacy, as their contribuion to the Prestwich Book Festival.
Julie will read excerpts from the book that looks at the vastly different worlds of two families in a newly unified Germany in the decades before the First World War.
The themed menu features an amuse bouche of smoked boar with sweet clouded wine; crayfish, asparagus and soft boiled gull's egg; sea bass baked in salt crust with fennel and rosemary bread, butter, salt, pepper and olive oil; Sachertorte and Turkish delight.
