Disappearing Dining Club comes to Murray's Mills in Ancoats

22 October 2013

Disappearing Dining Club is a bit of an underground phenomenon in the south, the idea being to bring like-minded people together to enjoy great food, drink and good company in private and unusual spaces. In the last few years the group have thrown dinner parties in lighthouses, launderettes, abandoned music venues and antiques shops. Its a big thing in London and Dorset, with foodie entrepreneur Stuart Langley and chef Fredrik Bolin at the helm. And now they've got their sights set on Manchester.

For their debut event at Murray's Mills, they'll be building the whole kitchen and dining space from scratch. Restored by the Housing & Communities Agency, the Mill’s rarely seen interior includes original Victorian brickwork, flooring, windows, and doorways. Diners can expect four courses plus wines, cocktails and music. Food will be served family style, on long dining tables with everyone piling in. The vibe has been described by the Sunday Times as "restaurant food without the best behaviour atmosphere." We like the sound of that a lot.

Dates: Thursdays 14 Nov, 28 Nov and 12 Dec, 7pm, £46 for welcome cocktail and  four courses. Keep an eye on the website for the menu just ahead of the date. www.disappearingdiningclub.co.uk
