DISH OUT THE BREAKFAST CONGEE! IT’S THE FULL CHINESE AT THE HILTON

THE Hilton, Deansgate has launched a Chinese breakfast in its Podium restaurant, allowing guests to wake up to the delights of dim sum, Chinese red tea and congee, a kind of porridge.

It was a culinary initiative timed to coincide with the Chinese New Year but looks set to continue on the four star hotel’s menu – available from 6.30am to 10.30am, and at weekends from 7am to 11am. It’s available at no extra cost for guests who have breakfast Included in their booking.

The hotel researched what its regular Chinese visitors expect to start their day with. So alongside char siu, dumplings and spring rolls there’s also the popular porridge-like congee, which comes savoury or sweet.

Hilton Manchester Deansgate’s general manager, John McLaughlin said: “We’re really proud to be the first hotel in the city to introduce a Chinese a la Carte breakfast menu and we know all our guests, Chinese or not, will love the menu – it’s so tasty.”
