Ducie Street Warehouse, the all-day bar, kitchen and social lounge on the ground floor of the Grade II listed former Victorian warehouse, has revealed a brand-new menu of ‘Bigger Plates’, snack sharers and salads.
New Head Chef Andrew Green (formerly of Mamucium and The Lowry’s River Restaurant) has created range of indulgent show-stopping dishes dedicated to sharing between groups of 2-4 people. Try a whole rosemary roast lamb rump with minted greens and hispi cabbage; miso glazed whole sea bass with bok choi and ginger; or a huge 800g tomahawk of Cheshire beef with vine roasted tomatoes.
You could order a harissa spiced whole chicken with chickpeas and roast vegetables; or the vegan baked ‘ras-el-hanout’ cauliflower with squash and wilted spinach topped with toasted seeds and curry oil. If you really want to go all out, you could indulge in a 1kg baked Camembert cheese, served with toasted sourdough, plum and fig preserve and toasted walnuts.
If you’d rather share a wider selection of small plates, highlights include salt and pepper crispy calamari with wild garlic aioli; chilli and coriander king prawns with Sriracha mayo; flaming vodka halloumi with plum and fig compote; lobster macaroni cheese with lemon and herb pangritata; golden shakshuka baked eggs with toasted local sourdough; and lamb koftas with beetroot hummus, feta, and pickled cucumber.
The new menu also includes a collection of Pinsa – Ducie Street’s signature artisan Roman flatbreads with San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil and fior de latte cheese.
If you happen to have any room left after all that, desserts include Majool sticky toffee slice with chai seed ice cream; avocado and coconut cheesecake; honey blossom white chocolate blondie with raspberry sorbet; and a sharing plum and pear crumble with clotted cream ice cream.
After opening their new urban south-facing terrace in April, the true vision of the space can now start to unfold as guests are welcomed back into the indoor 80 cover restaurant, bar and lounge area. As well as relaxed all day dining and drinking, visitors can enjoy entertainment, resident DJs and a collection of curated takeovers across sounds, inspired arts and cultural pop-ups.
Ducie Street Warehouse also offers three private meeting, events and party rooms available to hire, as well as their mini cinema and Native Penthouses – all with food and drink package add-ons.
Towering above Ducie Street Warehouse, with its cast-iron columns and exposed brickwork, is the award-winning Native Manchester aparthotel, with all the benefits of apartment living coupled with the service and flexibility of a hotel. Independent fitness studio BLOK also features in the fabric of this original space, delivering a world class fitness experience.
