Ducie Street Warehouse Launches a Month of Festive Events – and it’s a Cracker

Ducie Street Warehouse has planned a right Christmas Cracker of festive programming which will run from Friday 26th November until Friday 24th December. The four-week extravaganza of creative concepts and fun celebrations will feature a series of free and ticketed events including hands on Christmas workshops, cooking masterclasses, classic film showings and Santa’s first ever airdrop.


The stunning Grade-II listed building will be transformed into a cool Christmas wonderland for everyone. The festivities will begin on Friday 26th November with a performance from the celebrated Gospel choir, Manchester Inspirational Voices ­­– who’ll be performing once more on Friday 10th December.


Ancoats’ neighbourhood homeware shop, Northern Lights, will host an Autumn Wreath Making workshop on Friday 26th November and you can join Mariel once more on Thursday 2nd and 9th December for a fun Disco Wreath Making workshop as she blends traditional wreath making with her iconic glitter displays. 


No need to leave your four-legged friend out as Lola’s Bakery will be running two very special Dog Treats workshops on Friday 26th November and Saturday 11th December, to show you how to prepare some delicious dog-friendly Xmas treats this year.

In partnership with akt, the LGBTQ and youth homeless charity, Ducie Street Warehouse will host a Charity Gift Wrap, on Sunday 5th and 12th December. Bring along your gifts and the amazing volunteers at akt will wrap them beautifully. Donations are highly encouraged and will go directly to akt all in support of LGBTQ+ young people in the UK experiencing homelessness or living in hostile environments.


For those looking to sharpen their culinary skills, Head Chef Andrew Green will present his masterclass, Christmas Done with Andrew Green, to prepare you for the big Christmas dinner this year. Green show guests how to make the perfect Beef Wellington on Wednesday 1st December, and a Turkey Roulade on Wednesday 8th December. The masterclass is priced at £100 per person, which includes all the ingredients and equipment you need for the one-hour course, glass of prosecco on arrival and the meal you have prepared from the course – to eat in or take away. Home of prints and personalised art, Drawgina, will be doing a pop-up shop at the Counter from Monday 22ndNovember. And contemporary clothing brand Native Youth will be returning to Ducie Street Warehouse on Saturday 4th December for a curated Christmas edition of their famous pop-up market – plus a competition to win two outfits from Native Youth and a one night stay at Native Manchester, check out @duciestreet and @native_youth for the latest.

On Thursday 16th December, Ducie Street Warehouse will present Santa’s Airdrop gift – come down to the venue and keep an eye out on your device to see what present Santa is bringing you this year. 

Christmas countdown at the 36-seat Mini Cini with 7.1 sound and a 4k projector will begin on Monday 13th December until Friday 24th December featuring a series of your all-time classic and favourite films including The Polar Express (2004)Bad Santa (2003)Miracle on 34th Street (1994)Love Actually (2003)Die Hard (1988) and many more.


If you just want to sit and relax, Head Chef Andrew Green has created a special festive menu– available from Monday 15th November until Thursday 23rd December and bookable for a group of up to 20 people, priced at £35 per head. Starters include Spiced parsnip & chickpea hummusGarlic scented FocacciaBreaded Brie; Sautéed King prawnsCrispy fried Calamari; and Winter vegetable fritter. Followed by mains which include Turkey ParmigianaBaked SalmonCumbrian mini-Pigs in blanketsMassey farm goose fat roastiesMaple glazed winter vegetables; and Mulled spiced roasted beets, bean and grains. And finish off with a choice of Local cheeseChocolate dipped Cannoli’sMajool date Toffee slice; or Mini Clementine tartlets.


Fancy letting Chef Green cook for you on Christmas Day? Enjoy a Festive feast on Saturday 25th December, priced at £115 per head for adults and £40 per head for children (including a mocktail). Guests will be welcomed with festive punch and snacks on arrival, followed by starter, mains with all the sides – served family style, followed by dessert and a cheese course. Following last year’s successful NQ Grotto, the towering Atrium of Native Manchester is hosting the fairy tale land called Mancuniaacross four dates in December – 4th, 11th, 18th and 19th with an hour session each day at 10:00, 11:45, 13:30, 15:15 and 17:00. Ducie Street Warehouse is also supporting Eat Well MCR to reach their next target of 100,000 meals for Manchester: by cooking 50 meals every week from its restaurant kitchen and adding the Eat Well MCR “£2 Meal for Manchester” to their menu, giving customers the opportunity to fund a meal for someone else when dining.
