Tampopo are offering their guests 25% off main courses throughout August to celebrate their 25th birthday.
And that’s not all. Tampopo will be giving away FREE gyoza on 17th August from midday at their Albert Square restaurant. This Gyoza Giveaway is also to celebrate the reopening of their outside space. Following months of ongoing work as part of the ‘Our Town Hall’ project, the square will now be partially reopened to the public and the Gyoza Giveaway marks this milestone as well at Tampopo’s 25th birthday.
Gyoza are Tampopo’s most popular small plate, with the team making 4000 gyoza a week. Meaning that over the last 25 years, Tampopo have made and served around 10 million gyoza to Manchester! Made from scratch on site, the Japanese dumplings are hand filled and folded with a variety of fillings like minced pork, spring onion & bamboo shoot or mushroom, spring onion & carrotand served with a soy and chilli dipping sauce.
Tampopo Albert Square was the first dining establishment of its kind when it opened its doors back in 1997. It might be hard to believe now, but small plates and communal tables were almost unheard of back in the 90s. Twenty five years on and Tampopo is still one of Manchester’s most popular restaurants. They have now expanded with further outlets at the Corn Exchange and The Trafford Centre as well as East Street by Tampopo in London’s Fitzrovia.
