IT’S good to see Chorlton Green Brasserie coming back on stream after a facelift; even better they have enlisted Eat New York to bring their salt beef bagels and pastrami reuben magic to Beech Road.
The Big Apple-inspired diner has been a huge hit since making its debut on Oldham Street in the Northern Quarter a year ago. Chorltonites will get to see what all the fuss is about from Friday, October 19 when new management reopen it.
The menu is much the same as the NQ’s, which means bagels baked fresh every day, locally sourced salt beef brisket cured for seven days in the house rub then slow roasted and steamed, deep-fried pie plus (well it is Chorlton) extra veggie options.
ToM has eyes only for their classic Reuben sandwich. Two weeks in the making it yokes together hot stacked pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. We’ll need a craft beer or two with that. A revamped drinks list promises interesting cocktails too
