Mary-Ellen McTague who is also behind The Creameries in Chorlton, has created an imaginative seven-course dinner with cocktails and champagne. This unique and immersive dining experience will be packed full of nostalgic glamour, fun and surprises, leaving guests with wonderful memories of a magical Christmas.
The special series of dinner parties will raise funds for Eat Well MCR’s Christmas Dinner appeal. Eat Well MCR aims to deliver 1,000 Christmas dinners to refuges, homeless families living in temporary accommodation and schools across the city to ensure those who are most vulnerable can enjoy a nutritious, restraint cooked meal this year.
Eat Well MCR, which launched during the first lockdowns of 2020, is a collective of Manchester-based chefs and hospitality professionals. They have been working to provide meals to children and families experiencing homelessness, women taking refuge in sheltered accommodation, parents of long-term sick children, foodbanks and schools supporting families experiencing food poverty.
The meals go beyond nutrition - they are cooked with care by professional chefs from the Manchester restaurant industry and offer a much-needed moment of respite. Since April 2020 over 55,000 meals have been delivered across Greater Manchester.
This one-off series of dinner parties will take place on 30th November, 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th and 15th December.
Tickets are priced at £95 per person with soft drinks paring or £120 with cocktail pairing. Book your place HERE
Eat Well MCR are also raising funds by selling beautiful Christmas hampers this year. The social enterprise has brought together some of Manchester’s finest independent makers to create two beautifully presented hampers, packed with incredible locally sourced produce. Each hamper contains a Christmas postcard detailing how this beautiful gift supports a wonderful cause.
The Eat Well Do Good Hamper (£75) is packed with goodies from Local independent producers including Butchers Quarter, Manchester Smokehouse, Chorlton Cheesemongers, Cocoa and Bloom, Long Bois bakes, Plucky Pickle and Isca. A Bumper Hamper (£125) contains all the above plus a bottle of Port and Prosecco. Full details can be found on their online marketplace. The hampers are available now for delivery nationwide.
This Christmas Eat Well MCR are working with the restaurants in their collective to provide hundreds of Christmas meals to people sidelined by poverty across Greater Manchester. Profits will help fund Christmas dinners that will go to children and families experiencing homelessness, women taking refuge in sheltered accommodation, food-banks looking after families and single parents in dire straits.
