FROM the team that brought you a duo of CockaDoodleMoos (in Rochdale and Stockport) comes a third restaurant, WowYauChow.
If the first brand created by the EatsMeatsWest group trumpets it’s all about their ‘Meat Shack’ experience, then the second, due to launch in Altrincham this autumn, is full-on Chinese. With the Wow factor and the Yau factor.
It’s obviously a pet project for EatsMeatsWest founder Henry Yau – a casual blend of ‘British Chinese favourites’ and ‘Chinese street food’ with craft beers and cocktails. Expect a playful, experience, choosing from the likes of crispy chilli beef and salt and pepper wings plus a range of homemade dumplings and baos.
Work is currently under way transforming the former Embrace bar at 59 Stamford New Road. The exec chef will be Sam Coog. Like Henry, he comes from from a long line of family run Chinese eateries.
Henry told ToM: “I was born in Hong Kong, but having been raised in England since I was five, Manchester is where my heart and home is. Altrincham is simply a fantastic suburb of Manchester with a diverse population, enjoying a great range of independent and branded eateries and drinking places, so we thought this would be the perfect place for us launch our new concept.”
