Embankment Kitchen, located on the ground floor of luxury hotel CitySuites, has revealed their sumptuous new festive winter menu. Here’s what to expect.
Launching on Tuesday 7th November, the menu goes further than just turkey and trimmings. They offer exciting contemporary dishes like turkey and pancetta pie, pan-fried duck breast served with orange and cranberry braised red cabbage, plant-based roasted beetroot and mushroom and chestnut wellington.
Starters include classics like pigs in blankets, as well as sticky pork belly and firecracker cauliflower. Indulge in their winter berry and cinnamon crumble, sticky toffee pudding or Christmas pudding with brandy cream. You can enjoy two courses for £36 or three courses for £42. Both options come with a glass of prosecco or bottle of beer, Christmas cracker and homemade focaccia with whipped butter and olives (when booked for the whole table).
The festive menu has been specially curated by EK’s head chef and Masterchef: The Professionals quarter finalist Josh Singleton. It’s inspired by locally sourced, seasonal produce with the aim to create hearty dishes, leaving diners feeling warm.
He said: “My favourite dish on the menu is the slow cooked beef short rib Bourguignon. It’s a lovely dish that covers all of the points that I feel a winter dish should have: flavour, simplicity, and leaves you feeling extra satisfied.
“Our diverse dishes cater to everyone. I also feel that you can see and taste the freshness and passion we put into each and every item on our Winter Menu.”
Pair each course with a cocktail from the updated 2023 range. Choose from ‘Naughty but Nice’ (honey tequila, cinnamon, champagne), ‘Chocolate Wonderland’ (Bailey’s, Mozart chocolate, Disaronno), and ‘Boozy Baubles’ (gin, lime, cranberry and served in a bauble). If you fancy something more traditional, they also have a gingerbread old fashioned, The Grinch martini or sloe negroni.
Embankment Kitchen is open every evening until Sunday 31st December, serving food from 5pm.
