Épernay’s honey and apple-inspired cocktail star of Tatton Tequilafest

25 August 2017

WHAT a bill – Grease, Back to The Future, Harry Potter and Tequila as the ‘Patrón The Summer’ cocktail tour adds spirited support to the open-air Luna Cinema in Tatton Park over the August Bank Holiday Weekend (August 26-28).

The ‘Patrón The Summer’cocktail airstream will be serving a Patrónic (a tequila-based G&T) a Hacienda Margarita and a Jalisco Mule alongside a special ‘Paloma’ creation from Épernay Manhester bartender Anthony Hogan – ‘La Manczana’ garnished with an apple crisp, mint spring and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.

Hogan, of Épernay Manchester explained his cocktail for us; “I've picked a local honey for my drink as my main inspiration is the worker bee, which is the symbol of Manchester. My secondary inspiration is local apples. Not many people know that Manchester has tons of apples going to waste every year because there is a lack of appreciation for the amazing things you can find in the wild.

“The Moss Cider project started a few years ago to forage these apples and make a

cider out of it. Blending these two elements with Patrón Tequila, I've made a North-West Paloma and called it La Manczana.

If you miss Anthony at Tatton, his cocktail is available as a special at Épernay on Watson Street in the city centre.
