Everything's Gone Green weekend – a big Yes to sustainability

2 January 2020

WE warn you now. Don’t expect the egg to feature in Mama Z’s signature Aubergine Sisig we remember so well from her tenure at Hatch. The street food offering Everything’s Gone Green this weekend (January 4 and 5) at YES is entirely plant-based.

Joining Mama Z on the food stalls will be Chiit Chaat Gujarati cuisine, Doner Sumer, Los Antojitos, Choux Choux Pâtisserie alongside the Charles Street venue’s regulars Firebird Hope and Pepperoni Playboy set up by the main bar from 12pm-6pm each day.

Filipino food is Mama Z’s speciality. She’ll also be serving up Pancit Noodles and promises a 10 per cent discount if you bring your own container. It’s that kind of ethical, eco-friendly gathering.

This Wellness Weekend ranges across all four floors. The Pink Room hosts a sustainable market with stalls from Plant Shop, Evolve Vintage and more. Extinction Rebellion Manchester are running a cloth printing workshop to renew your old clothing  and spread their environmental message.

On both days, traders will take part in a ‘2020 - The Year of Zero Waste’ talk (1-2pm), where they will share insights into how we can all live more sustainable. Taking over the basement on Saturday will be holistic sound facilitators Golden Ratio Frequencies curating a day of drone meditation and yoga to a live soundtrack. On the same day Manchester-based running club Still Waters Run Deep will take you on a guided trot around the city bringing you back to Yes for a free vegan burger or pizza slice.
