THERE may yet be an icy backstop to the most glorious early spring in years, but let’s bask in the warm sun while it lasts – and welcome two newcomers to one of the of the city’s favourite al fresco dining spaces.
Hatch on Oxford Road is hosting street food heroes Seasoned: Nothing But Fries and Cyprus Kouzina, joining existing food and drink traders Meatless Farm, T’Arricrri, Takk Espresso Bar, ÖL Nano Brewery & Bar, ÖL Nano Brewery & Bar and Electrik Box (with its legendary juke box).
Seasoned: Nothing But Fries Offering a whole new take on the humble French fry. Each gourmet chips portion comes with its own bespoke dip – chicken katsu curry fries with natural yoghurt, honey and coriander, or Caribbean prawn fries come with spiced mango, spring onion and red chilli dip.
The ‘guys behind the fries’ make seasonal seasonings – with Xmas Dinner fries being one of their most famous to date. Look out for Hatch’s Pancake Day special coming next month.
Cyprus Kouzina This family-run business fuses fresh local produce with fine Cyprus-imported ingredients to create the eclectic likes of Horiatiki Village Salad,and Tsipoura – a whole grilled seabream dish – alongside plus classics likechicken souvlaki and grilled halloumi.
Hatch, at Circle Square on Oxford Road under the Mancunian Way flyover, is home to independent creative businesses. Run by Bruntwood, it helps to launch entrepreneurial fashion, jewellery, art, craft and design start-ups.
