Fancy cooking your own zebra and kangaroo on volcanic stones?

28 March 2019

ARE you a Stones Fan? Time to confirm if the concept rocks for you when The Stone Grill opens a second outlet serving up a variety of exotic meats (and some seafood) on sizzling volcanic slabs.

It has wowed punters along Blackpool’s Queen’s Promenade. Now its operators are hoping to conquer Manchester when they open in June in the old Bollywood Masala site on Liverpool Road.

How does it all work? Customers are provided with seasoned raw meat on sizzling stones that they will then cut into strips and cook to their personal liking. ToM prefers its zebra haynch medium rare.

Zebra? Yep, along with kangaroo fillet and the usual beef cuts, it features on a wide-ranging menu whose starters are less wild – the likes of prawn cocktail and creamy garlic mushrooms.

The Stone Grill began in a Blackpool hotel five years ago and has plans for further outlets after Manchester. An eruption of volcanic stones then.

The Stone Grill, 13-25 Liverpool Road, M3 4NW.
