Nestled on King Street, Kala Bistro, a cornerstone of Manchester's dining scene, is celebrating its sixth anniversary with a limited-edition menu that pays homage to its culinary journey.
From Thursday (May 1st) to Saturday (May 10th), diners can indulge in a selection of the bistro's most beloved dishes, curated by General Manager John and Head Chef Jack - both of whom have been with Kala since it started.
Starters
The anniversary specials, available from 4pm onwards Monday through Saturday, feature starters like the confit duck leg doughnut accompanied by rhubarb purée, toasted nori, and smoked garlic honey, as well as flamed octopus paired with butterbean and roast garlic purée, salsa matcha, and sunflower seeds.
Mains
Main courses include an 8oz flat iron steak served with creamed spinach, truffle and Parmesan fries, and peppercorn sauce, alongside a monkfish tail roasted on the bone, complemented by a spring onion dressing, red cabbage mango and maple salad, roasted macadamia, and BBQ sauce.
Dessert
And as for something sweet to end your meal on? Well, guests can choose between the indulgent banoffee choux bun with dulce de leche ice cream, caramelised banana, dark chocolate, and whipped cream, or a classic Tres Leche Cake.
The new 'favourites' many additions will sit alongside the regular main menu, which is priced at £48 for two courses and £55 for three.
Drinks
To toast the occasion, Kala is offering a special £6 birthday cocktail, the Kala Spritz, which is expertly crafted with sweet vermouth, monastrell rosado, blackberry syrup, and soda.
CompetitionAdding to the festivities, all diners during the celebration period will be entered into a competition to win a free meal for two (valued at £100) every month for the remainder of the year - if the new limited-edition menu wasn't enough of a reason to book yourself in!
And, if you happened to be one of the original backers of the 2019 Kickstarter that supported Kala’s opening, there’ll be a free glass of fizz, beer or a soft drink thrown in for you, too.
