First Look: Ancoats Coffee Co set to open café/roastery at Royal Mills, Ancoats

3 November 2015 by Lucy Lovell

Artisan roastery Ancoats Coffee Co will join the growing list of quality food and drink traders in Ancoats, the budding food hub of Manchester.

Prior to their new venture, Ancoats Coffee Co were based in a nearby industrial estate, specialising in wholesale distribution of their small batch, hand roasted coffee.

In addition to roasting, owner Jamie Boland will now expand his operation at their new site on Redhill Street to include a selection of soups, sandwiches and cakes.

However, the roasting machine is still at the heart of the café, and customers will be able to see coffee weighing and roasting taking place throughout the day.

For anyone keen to get their Ancoats coffee fix, the café is set to open their doors to the public next week.

Ancoats Coffee Co will join Ancoats independents Rudy's Pizza and The Cutting Room in the redeveloped suburb, while Seven Brothers brewery and Goose Fat and Wild Garlic are reportedly still set to open in the near future (see our recent article here).
