This weekend sees the Longridge and District Food and Drink Festival - an area that has a rich foodie culture. The event is being hosted at The Corporation Arms, Longridge, and there will be 50 local food and drink producers who will be exhibiting their excellent produce in the food marquee. There will also be a drinks marquee, where there will be 40 real ales available, as well as ciders and lagers.
The festival takes place on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, and aims to celebrate the diversity and variety of local speciality food and drink producers who will exhibit at the festival.
Local chefs will be providing cooking demonstrations in the demonstration theatre throughout the weekend. BBC Radio Lancashire will be broadcasting live from the event across the entire weekend, and the festival is being officially opened on Saturday at 10am by broadcaster Stuart Hall.
On the evening of Friday, June 26 the beer festival kicks off with live performances from five local acoustic bands. The evening is free of charge, and promises to be a great night. Entertainment on the Saturday evening will be supplied by the fabulous One Hand Clapping.
