Clear your calendars as Pizza Pilgrims are finally heading north, and they’ve picked Manchester’s Deansgate as the site of their first-ever Northern pizzeria.
Officially opening on 18th August at 105–107 Deansgate, this much-loved pizza spot is arriving with a full Neapolitan bang.
Before their official launch, Pizza Pilgrims are giving Mancs a taste of the good stuff with a week-long soft launch from 11th–17th August, offering 50% off food and drink and exclusive pizza masterclasses to boot.
Be sure to also mark your calendars forthe 13th August at 12pm, when 1000 free slices will be up for grabs as part of their infamous Slice Day.
Set over two floors and seating 140, the Deansgate pizzeria is more than just a pizza pit-stop. Upstairs, they’ve built a dedicated masterclass kitchen and chef’s table where guests can try their hand at the 'Dough It Yourself' experience under the guidance of Pizza Pilgrims' top pizzaiolos. Whether you’re in it for the stretch or just the slice, this new space is built for both feast and fun.
To coincide with the launch, Pizza Pilgrims are rolling out their brand-new summer menu, celebrating proper Neapolitan produce and bold, sun-soaked flavours. The Amalfi Coast pizza brings Cetaran anchovies, sweet Piennolo tomatoes, olives, capers, and Fior di Latte mozzarella together in perfect harmony. If you're in the mood for something extra indulgent, go for the Principessa which is topped with Prosciutto di Parma DOP, 24-month Parmigiano-Reggiano, and melt-in-your-mouth Mozzarella di Bufala.
These lot have you covered for lighter bites too as the Burrata & Pesto pizza serves up Puglian burrata with Genovese basil pesto and those signature Piennolo tomatoes for proper summer vibes.
Beyond the dough, start with Napoli salami-stacked antipasti, or keep it classic with the Burrata Caprese, glistening under extra virgin olive oil. Drinks-wise, the team are shaking things up with new cocktail creations like the Watermelon & Strawberry Daiquiri and a dangerously moreish Spicy Pineapple Margarita – proving once and for all that pineapple might not belong on pizza, but it sure tastes good in a glass.
Don't worry if you're a pizza purist as the Margherita, Double Pepperoni & Hot Honey, and Salsiccia e Friarielli all feature on the menu, alongside cult favourites like the Carbonara pizza, complete with crisp strands of al dente spaghetti, and the outrageous 8 Cheese pizza.
For co-founders James and Thom Elliot, this isn’t just another opening – it’s a return to their roots.
"We’ve been looking to open in Manchester for ages," they say. "We were both born in Manchester and raised in the local area, so it feels like we’re coming back home. Manchester is such a vibrant, unique city – we’ve waited until the right space came along. It’s not a place you can just swagger into."
The brand continues to champion its Italian ingredient roots, from Caputo ‘00’ flour and DOP San Marzano tomatoes to Fior di Latte mozzarella from Campania. And through their Dip To Donate initiative, guests can give a little something back – with 5p from every crust dipper sold going to Pizza Pilgrims’ charity fund.
