Garden chic Quays – first look at The Botanist MediaCityUK

1 September 2017 by Neil Sowerby

WE always wonder if the New World Trading Company has a mega barn full of ‘previously loved’ farm and garden tools plus a tottering pile of weathered timber to furnish their burgeoning Botanist chain – 14 at the last count with the opening this week of The Botanist MediaCityUK.

Whatever, the leafily enhanced, cluttered interiors always make good ‘First Look’ features and this one in the 11-storey Orange Tower is no exception. Certainly the 146-cover ‘garden shed’ is in rustic contrast to neighbours CAU and wagamama in a building that’s a hive of media activity.

With this location ToM expects it to be hugely popular, especially its large outside terrace for al fresco drinking and dining.

On the food menu will be the brand’s signature hanging kebabs along with deli boards, nibbles and pub grub staples such as rotisserie chicken, inspired by the in-house barbecue.

The site will also showcase the brand’s extensive cocktail menu which offers over 45 botanical-based concoctions alongside a roster of 60 ales, beers and ciders from around the world, including a home-brewed speciality ale.

Orange Building, MediaCityUK, Salford M50 2HE. 0161 359 6763. Full menu here.
