GIN was the toast of the tippling world in 2015 and its popularity shows no sign of trickling away. To keep your spirits high until the third Manchester Gin Festival at Victoria Baths in late March, there’s a new juniper-fuelled jaunt hitting town.
Leon Dalloway’s The Gin Journey has been a huge hit in London, offering a chauffeur-driven posh bar crawl – fun and educational, as they always say. Now it’s Manchester’s turn for a taste of the action curated in person by Leon, a former bartender worked at Socio Rehab and the Whiskey Jar.
The first Journey, already sold out, will kick off on at 6.30pm on Wednesday, February 3, and the tours will continue every week after that. Guests, paying £45 a head, will be ferried between five bars that might include Manchester House, Gorilla, Home Sweet Home, Cottonopolis and Cane and Grain’s First Floor Bar, to sample a different type of gin and gin cocktail at each one.
