MFDF’S Big Indie Wine Fest has been hosted in some spectacular spaces from Manchester Town Hall’s Great Hall to The Whitworth to the Engine House of of the People’s History Museum, but this year’s venue really captures the imagination.
We’ve been following the stately progress of one of the city’s most fascinating hospitality projects, transforming the Grade II listed Freemason’s Hall into Manchester Hall. It will now be 2018 before it starts to be populated with restaurants and bars, but BIWF gives you the chance to jump the gun and taste an array of wines from some of the best indie wine merchants and traders around.
Already lined up are Veeno, Reserve Wines, Ludo, Lunya, Alpine Wines, Mylilko, Cork of the North, Alcohol Free Shop, Wine Boy, Basil and Lily, True Terroir, T Wright and Bacco.
The event will also host a session of masterclasses including one by the BBC’s Kate Goodman, who runs Reserve Wines in West Didsbury.
Big Indie Wine Fest, Manchester Hall, 36 Bridge Street, M3 3BT. There are three sessions: Friday, Oct 6 6pm-9pm; Sat, Oct 7 2pm-5pm and 6pm-9pm. Book here.
