GRAND RE-OPENING: Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão to unveil major transformation

9 September 2026 by Rhiannon Ingle

Fogo de Chão, the original Brazilian steakhouse and internationally renowned restaurant group founded in Porto Alegre in 1979, is set to unveil a major transformation of its Manchester restaurant, located at The Avenue, Spinningfields, when it reopens later this month on 21st September.

Following a complete refurbishment, the restaurant will offer an entirely reimagined look and feel, marking Fogo de Chão’s first full restaurant remodel in the UK since Fazenda’s rebrand and unification with the global Fogo de Chão brand earlier this year. Designed by the international design firm Harrison, the new space takes a darker, richer and more elevated approach to Brazilian gaúcho heritage, with statement lighting, natural materials, sepia-toned photography, and an open-view grill at the heart of the dining experience.

“Manchester has played an important role in Fogo de Chão’s growth in the UK, and this investment reflects our commitment to the city and our guests,” said Terence Langley, Managing Director of Fogo de Chão UK & Europe. “The transformation brings a more sophisticated look and feel to the restaurant, along with an expanded dining space, while preserving the authentic Churrasco Experience and warm hospitality at the heart of Fogo. We’re proud to welcome Manchester back to Fogo and introduce guests to what’s next.”

The restaurant’s footprint has also been expanded with a new light-filled dining room, offering a brighter and more open setting alongside the main dining room. Across the main restaurant, Bar Fogo and three private dining rooms, the redesigned venue will accommodate approximately 200 guests.

“The transformation of our Manchester restaurant is an exciting milestone for Fogo de Chão as we continue to build our presence in the UK,” said Barry McGowan, Chief Executive Officer of Fogo de Chão. “Our investment in Manchester reflects our confidence in the brand and its future on an international scale.”

Fogo de Chão Manchester will close for refurbishment from Monday 7th September through Sunday 20th September, reopening to guests on Monday 21st September 2026.
