Hallelujah for Jay Rayner and his edible promised land

8 October 2016 by Neil Sowerby

IT’S Russia’s loss in not being able to worship at the feet of Observer food critic Jay Rayner, who was due to tour his Ten (Food) Commandments show at Russian Hospitality Week in Moscow, over October 17/18. It has been cancelled. His own and his newspaper’s outspoken criticisms of the Putin regime may have contributed to no visa.

Still Jay will be fresh to unleash on Manchester the same week this one man show – ‘an audio-visual food romp, where our very own culinary Moses attempts to lead us to the edible promised land' (no, we don’t either but suspect it will be a hoot of an evening). To be followed by a Q&A session and a book signing.

The Ten (Food) Commandments, RNCM, 24 Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9RD. Sunday, October 23. 7.30pm -9.30pm (doors 6.30pm) Tickets £21 plus booking fee via this link
