Have you Purred the news? Manchester's first Cat Cafe set to open in NQ

1 December 2015 by Lucy Lovell

Sisters Elena and and Sarah Close have launched a crowdfunding campaign for Manchester's first Cat Café, set to open in the Northern Quarter in Spring 2016.

So what on earth is a cat café? Cat Café Manchester will invite customers to come in, grab a coffee and snuggle up with a cat. The concept aims to de-stress and city dwellers, and supply on demand cats to those who don't have the time or space to keep their own.

The cafe will offer an extensive drink menu, Wi-Fi, sofas and a games console.

Owners are hoping to raise a target of £15,000, which will be used to turn the cafe in to a veritable cat paradise, featuring fountains, climbing frames and trees.

Sound like your kinda thing? Want to be surrounded by cats all day every day? Don't mind being covered head to toe in cat hair? If you like cats - I mean, really like cats - Cat Café Manchester will be recruiting for a manager and barista staff soon - follow their Facebook page to keep up to date.
