OUR favourite steak restaurant is celebrating its 10th anniversary by rolling out its Hawksmoor Classics menu. OK, the upmarket London chain only made it into Manchester just over a year ago (winning Best Newcomer at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards) but, generous hosts as they are, Deansgate is now included in the offer, which showcases their classic signature dishes.
The six course meal with cocktails, wine and Hawksmoor’s own limited edition Clerk of the Works whisky (a 16-year old single cask single malt bottled exclusively at Speyside distillery Craggenmore) offers a potted history on a plate of the iconic concept that started life in an abandoned kebab house in Spitalfields.
So you’ll get short rib nuggets; scallops with white port and garlic; Tamworth pork belly ribs; fillet or rib-eye with bone marrow, triple cooked chips; sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream; and salted caramel truffles.
The menu costs £70 a head, £110 with matching drinks. It must be taken by the while table and is available at lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday, excluding bank holidays. It's not available in conjunction with any offers or discounts, although the £5 Monday Wine Club will continue to run as normal. Pre-book it by ringing 0161 836 6980, emailing [email protected] or visiting this link.
Hawksmoor Manchester, 184-186 Deansgate.
