Hub street food line-up to kickstart the festival

STREET food is once again a vital ingredient in the culinary melting pot that is the Albert Square Manchester Food and Drink Festival hub. Organisers have just released details on which operations are serving up the casual grub from 12 noon each day in Session One (Thurs Sept 18-Tues Sept 23; Session 2 from the 24th, to be announced later). Entry to the festival hub is free.

Hip Hop Chip Shop – Salford

Untraditional fish and chips from the lively, entertaining and imaginative Hip Hop Chip Shop.

Los Churros Amigos – Oxford

Enjoy delicious churros and melted Belgian chocolate from a hand-crafted stall made out of reclaimed timber.

Fundi Pizza – London

Brothers Charlie and Rory Nelson built their own wood-fired pizza oven from scratch.

Mumma Schnitzel – Manchester

Created by a food-obsessed couple, all ingredients are locally sourced, including free range chicken from Styal.

Fair Game – Merseyside

Locally-sourced game with a street food twist. This ethical choice serves refined flavours with a laidback demeanour.

Chaophraya – Manchester

A finer twist on traditional Thai street food. The dishes on offer include spicy and not so hot options.

Albert’s Chop House – Manchester

Tuck into the best of British pub food freshly prepared on site with local ingredients, such as corned beef hash.

Dirty Dogs – Manchester

Dirty Dogs are all about the finest franks and the tastiest toppings with a minimum 94 peer cent meat content and none of those nasty bits you’ll find in your average hot dog.
