Independent wine specialists Salut have launched the ultimate BBQ box

6 July 2021 by Deanna Thomas

To mark National BBQ Week (5th - 18th July), independent city centre wine specialists, Salut, have created the ultimate BBQ box as a perfect accompaniment to summer grills.

Salut have handpicked six of the best bottles for BBQ season from their extraordinary collection of over 400 wines – to bring you the ideal drinking partners for all day garden-parties with family and friends.

The BBQ Box is £65 and contains a range of six bottles which will complement a number of summer dishes from burgers and kebabs to fresh fish and summer salads. There’s even a bottle of Italian fizz to get the party started.

BBQ Bubbles…A glass of fizz is surely the best way to kick off any occasion. Salut’s Bella Modella Prosecco is a classic. Light and refreshing, it's crisp, deliciously frothy and filled with ripe apple and citrus fruit character.

Fish on the grill… Foil wrap some salmon from independent local fishmongers Out of the Blue, add a squeeze of lemon and pair with this Sliga Verdejo which is pure summer in a glass! A fresh and vibrant Spanish dry white with beautiful citrus fruits.

Summer Salad… Create a beautiful summer salad with feta, watermelon and mint then pair with this stunning Rose - Vie en Rose… an elegant Languedoc Rose, offering raspberries, strawberries and subtle spicy notes.

This Solara Orange is a great Orange wine from Romania and is a must-try.. With flavours of apricot, pear and subtle vanilla, it’s something original that will wow your guests and pairs perfectly with grilled lamb kebabs.

For those beautiful bangers (Salut recommend grabbing from The Butcher’s Quarter in the Northern Quarter, or their new place on Deansgate Mews) there is nothing better than this Cota 700 - a vibrant and fruity red from the Dao region in Portugal

Finally, pair this stunning La Tribuna with your awesome homemade burgers - juicy and round with light notes of oak, this is a super tasty glass to finish up - great with cheese and charcuterie too.

Salut wine merchant and bar was set up by Sara Saunby in 2014. Sara developed her love of wine when travelling the world as a cabin crew member. She was keen to take the stuffiness out of wine and to create a warm, welcoming and totally accessible wine experience.

Salut have since built up a loyal fan base in Manchester and beyond. They are known for their great wines, relaxed atmosphere, fantastic service and their large Enomatic wine dispensed range, that allows customers to try an incredible range of wines.

The BBQ Box is £65 excluding delivery. Click & Collect is available from Salut Wines on Cooper Street in the city centre, or next working day delivery is available nationwide.
