Indy Man Beer Con is back – and here’s how to get your tickets early

11 April 2022 by Deanna Thomas

After a two year hiatus, Indy Man Beer Con (IMBC) is back. Manchester’s most loved Beer Festival will take place over four days between September 29th-October 2nd. The event was a swift sell out last time and this year tickets go on sale on Thursday 14th April via indymanbeercon.co.uk/tickets/ and are priced between £14.50 and £19.

However, both Port Street Beer House in the Northern Quarter, and The Beagle in Chorlton will be running pre-sale events on Wednesday 15th April, between 6pm-9pm. To celebrate, both venues will each be giving free treats out to those early birds in attendance: Port Street will have slices of Nell’s NYC 22” pizza on the go, while The Beagle will be cracking open mystery sharing bottles from past IMBC’s for some free tasters.

Independent Manchester Beer Convention is a world class showcase for the best breweries from the UK and beyond. Taking over the stunning surrounds of the Grade II listed, architectural gem Victoria Baths, IMBC brings together the most progressive, forward-thinking breweries from across the UK, Europe and USA for a multisensory, headlong, hop-forward beer extravaganza.

Started by Jonny Heyes, founder of Common & Co (Common, The Beagle, Nell’s Pizza, Summer Beer Thing) in 2012, the first IMBC was hosted at Victoria Baths, using just two of the rooms and hosting just under 20 breweries. Fast forward 11 years and every nook and cranny of the landmark building is used to demonstrate over 60 breweries. From the main ‘stages’ in the old swimming pools to tasting areas and snug bars in the Turkish Baths, the breweries will pour a selection of their beers to thousands of beer lovers and converts alike.

This year’s focus on sustainability and environmental awareness of the impact of the brewing industry sees special, cross-Atlantic collaborative brewing and innovative approaches to recycling spent products.
