This International Women’s Day (Sunday 8th March), Manchester-based female-owned café and catering business Nibble will host a special Pay What You Feel coffee morning from 9 am - 12 pm at their Oldham Street café in the Northern Quarter.
The event marks the launch of their new crowdfunding campaign, 'Delivering Joy', raising funds for an official Nibble Catering Van, the next step in the business’s growth.
Founded in 2018, Nibble has built a loyal following for its inclusive menu, proudly feminist ethos, and dedication to catering to all dietary requirements. From gluten-free brownies to large-scale corporate catering, the business has become a staple in Manchester’s independent food scene, most recently earning a nomination for Coffee Shop of the Year at the I Love Manchester Awards.
Over the past eight years, Nibble’s catering arm has grown significantly, becoming an increasingly important part of the business, particularly at a time when the wider hospitality industry has faced ongoing challenges.
With demand for corporate bookings, events and bespoke packages continuing to rise, balancing a busy catering schedule alongside daily café service has become an operational balancing act.
The launch of the 'Delivering Joy' crowdfunder marks the next step in supporting that growth, with plans to invest in an official Nibble Catering Van to streamline logistics and increase capacity.
Founder Lauren Irlam-Cesekas explains: "At the moment, everything gets crammed into the back of my little Mazda. I’m baking at 3 am, loading up at 7 am, driving door to door, and we’re still having to turn work down because we physically can’t do any more.
"A catering van isn’t a ‘nice to have’ for me, it’s the missing link. With a van, we can streamline logistics, increase capacity, and create the breathing room to grow both sides of the business sustainably.
"It’s about building a version of Nibble that works for the team, our customers, and the community that supports us.'
The Pay What You Feel coffee morning invites customers to contribute what they can for their drinks, with all proceeds supporting the catering van crowdfunder.
The campaign aims to increase efficiency, expand event capacity, and allow Nibble to continue delivering its inclusive, community-focused offering across Manchester.
