Is SUD Pasta really closing?

21 November 2023 by Chloe Tuff

SUD Pasta will cease to exist as we know it from December 31st. The team took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce a change in direction for 2024, with plans for an exciting new menu. Pasta lovers can still indulge in their dishes before the new year with the 'Nothing Lasts Forever' menu - a celebration of their classic main courses in bigger portions.

Inspired by the Italian South and established in 2015 as Sugo Pasta Kitchen, SUD Pasta is based across four locations: Sale, Altrincham, Ancoats and Exhibition. SUD were forced to downscale and introduced small plates to curb costs during financial challenges, but the 'Nothing Lasts Forever' menu brings the iconic dishes back in their original size for the final time.

The menu features starters from £8.50, like arancino and nduja glazed chicken wings. Pasta dishes range from £13 to £15.50 such as paccheri with smoky cruschi peppers and orecchiette with pancetta and sprouts, and a side of roast garlic and rosemary sourdough for £4.50, which is also back to its original portion size. Choose from affogato (£6.50) or panna cotta ‘al tiramisu’ (£7.50) for dessert.

SUD launched a 12-plate menu in September, but in order to remain sustainable they directed their focus towards the updated menu, promising their most exciting project yet. The overall aim is to ensure they continue offering affordable food for everyone.

The menu is available at Ancoats, Sale and Altrincham Tuesdays and Thursdays 12-2:30pm and 5-9:30pm and Friday to Sunday 12-late. Walk-ins are accepted but booking is recommended.
