VAPIANO is the latest (and extremely handsome) addition to the roster of eateries in the Corn Exchange, opening to the public on Friday, November 27. It’s big, boasting 400 covers over two floors and since it is self-service ‘fast casual’ dining expect at busy times a bit of a bustle. Which is great when you think of the Triangle as it was – tumbleweed central.
It’s the 158th restaurant in an Italian dining chain that began in Hamburg only 13 years ago and now spans 33 countries. The concept has gone down big in London already with their three eateries there serving 30,000 customers a week.
We like the the ‘Med to measure’ approach of Milanese designer, Matteo Thun with a 100-year-old olive tree in situ and pots of fresh on every table and the prospect of the 12 made-in-house pastas being served fresh to order before our very eyes. TOM is already salivating, too, at the prospect of nibbling a Pizza Pancetta, pictured below. Click here for the full menu.
