Jack Frost Nipping At Your Nose? Try These Winter-Warmer Cocktails

Everybody knows Mulled Wine is one of the greatest things about Christmas-time, but if you're entertaining guests over the festive season, try making some of these Nogs and Toddys that you can enjoy either hot or cold.

Not only will you impress the guests with your hosting skills, but they're super easy to throw together, so you'll have longer to spend basking in your pals' praise.

If you want to make your life easier at bigger parties, make a big batch keep in a slow-cooker set to low - that way they'll keep warm even as you enjoy them at a responsible rate...

Baileys Eggnogg

Ingredients (per serving)

  • 35ml. Baileys® Original Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 1tbsp Sugar
  • Egg
  • 75ml. Milk
  • Split Vanilla Pod
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • Sprinkle Nutmeg

Method

  1. Whisk together egg and caster sugar.
  2. Mix in Baileys Original Irish Cream Liqueur, milk and split vanilla pod.
  3. Add some grated nutmeg.
  4. Strain into a short glass.
  5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Anise Eggnog

Ingredients (per serving)

  • 25ml. Don Julio® Reposado Tequila
  • 25ml. Martini Rosso
  • 25ml. Sugar Syrup
  • 10ml. Lemon Juice
  • 15ml. Double Cream
  • 2Star Anise
  • 0.25tsp Peppercorns
  • 1piece(s) Egg Yolk

Method

  1. Place Don Julio Reposado, Martini Rosso, egg yolk, sugar syrup, lemon juice, double cream and star anise in a shaker

  2. Shake to combine all the ingredients

  3. Add ice to shaker and shake again

  4. Strain into a glass

  5. Crush peppercorns and garnish

Hot Toddy

Ingredients (per serving)

  • 50ml. Cardhu® 12 Year Old Whiskey
  • 75ml. Boiling Water
  • 25ml. Honey
  • 25ml. Lemon Juice
  • wedge Lemon to Garnish
  • Cloves
Method
  1. Place runny honey in a glass.

  2. Pour Cardhu 12 Year Old, lemon juice, boiling water and cloves into the glass.

  3. Stir slowly.

  4. Garnish with a wedge of lemon.

Hot Apple Bite

Ingredients (per serving)

  • 50ml. Smirnoff® Gold
  • 200ml. Apple Juice
  • 2tsp Brown Sugar
  • 1tsp Apple Purée
  • slice of Apple
  • Crushed Biscuit
Method
  1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan.

  2. Warm the mixture and stir together thoroughly.

  3. Pour the mixture into a glass mug.

  4. Garnish with a slice of apple and crushed biscuit.
