Writer, journalist and regular food critic for the Observer, Jay Rayner, will be the headline speaker at the Northern Restaurant and Bar (NRB) debate on the 16 March at Manchester Central.
The annual NRB Debate has always sought to chew over some of the hottest issues in the local food and drink scene - this year will include a discussion on how the booming culture of “food entrepreneurism” has changed the landscape of the hospitality industry.
The NRB promises a candid discussion around how and why people become food entrepreneurs, what models exist to facilitate and support them, and how it impacts – positively and negatively – on the traditional restaurants, bars and cafés.
'I've spent years reviewing restaurants across the north of England, a part of the country that can feed you very well indeed, so it's terrific to be a part of the NRB Debate,” said Jay. “It's true that not everything I've said over the years has been received warmly, but the arguments have always been invigorating and informing and I'm sure that will be the case at this event.”
Tickets for the event are £66, and can be purchased through the Eventbrite page here.
