LEVENSHULME Market has been one of the regeneration success stories of recent times, spawning the Levenshulme Food And Drink Festival, which this year runs from June 12-21 with a culinary offering that represents the cultural diversity of the area.
Mexico, Mauritius, Africa, Italy, Thailand are all represented in separate events, but the real melting pot moment is the Global Picnic at Cringle Park on Sunday, June 14.
The festival is also hosting a series of workshops providing hands on learning with expert guidance – wine, cheese and bread making, a Thai masterclass and two devoted to pasta making. There is also a cooking to fill your freezer class, and an adults and children’s cooking and eating together session. As always there is an abundance of music at venues cross the district and the seminal Levy Market will now open, too, on Saturdays June 13 and 20.
The launch is at 7pm on Friday June 12. View the full line-up online here.
