Are whisky tastings your thing? Do you enjoy walking around, sampling rare drams and meeting other like-minded folk? Well, this premium spirit tasting event at the Rosylee Tea Rooms could be for you. Its new to the Manchester Food and Drink Festival 2013, but it promises to become something of a favourite, as its one of the only events in the North West open to the public of its kind. Among the trailing ivy, chichi tables and fittings, boutique spirit fans can go wild with their sampling glass, running the gauntlet through the likes of G'Vine gin, Excellia Tequila, Sloane's gin, Rebellion rum, Shed Vodka, Ramsay Rum and Old J Spiced Rum.
Its a chance to explore the world of premium spirits - and source some ideas for your home blends and cocktails, not to mention trying out a number of new options that none of your friends will have heard of. A bit like a whisky tasting if you like - only with more options.
Rosylee Tearooms is quite a charmer too. Newly opened, the converted dance studio is all lines and light, with food and drink available from 10am until late every day. We suspect that its easy-going charm will only increase as the sampling goes on. Look out for stylish touches like tweed-covered booths and low-slung lamps in jam jars as you weave your way through the premium spirit jungle.
