Mini masterchefs are being invited to swap their Playdough for pizza dough and get creative in the kitchen at Olive Press. Top North West chef and restaurateur Paul Heathcote is encouraging youngsters to get cooking with the launch of a new scheme at his Olive Press restaurants in Manchester, Bolton and Cheadle Hulme.

The Little Olive Reward Card invites children to complete a series of culinary tasks during their visit to the restaurants, which include making pizza, mixing a fruit cocktail and creating a dessert. The budding chefs will also have the chance to take part in a free cookery class and will receive a special chocolate pizza and certificate upon completion of the tasks.

Paul said: “I am a huge advocate of getting kids into the kitchen and allowing them to become familiar with fresh, healthy ingredients and simple home cooking from an early age. The reward card is a fun way for youngsters to learn something different each time they visit the Olive Press and get a nice gift at the end of it.â€?

The children’s cookery classes take place at 3pm on the first Sunday of each month (the next takes place on Sunday, July 5) and last for 20 minutes. The Little Olive Reward Card can be used any time throughout the week.

Toddlers under three-years-old can eat for free at all Olive Press restaurants while children can enjoy a main course, dessert and a soft drink for £7.50.
