The councils in Greater Manchester including Wigan are launching a Love Food Hate Waste campaign to raise awareness of the amount of food we all throw away, and need your help!
Love Food Hate Waste is a campaign developed in order to raise awareness of the amount of food wasted each year. Infact one third of the shopping we buy ends up being thrown away! The campaign encourages us to save money by wasting less food, while helping the environment.
They are looking for people whoâd like to reduce their food waste. If you want to stop throwing food away, help the environment and save money, they want to hear from you to take part in their food challenge.
To take part youâll be asked to record the amount of food you throw away every day for 2 weeks using a diary, and you will be happy for your diary entries to be posted on the Recycle for Greater Manchester website to help others benefit from your experience.
If selected, you will be invited to the official launch event at the Palace Hotel in Manchester on 22nd April. As a thank you for taking part youâll receive a fabulous meal at a top Greater Manchester restaurant. Terms and conditions apply.
There are only 10 places available, so if you believe you can make a difference and help us promote the campaign, tell us why you would like to be involved, how much food you think you waste and how you think you could reduce the amount of food you waste in no more than 300 words.
Please send your submissions with your name, address and e-mail contact details to [email protected] by 1st April 2009.
