High-end Italian food and beverage provider, Matterello, has recently opened its doors to customers as part of a 15-year deal with landlord Peel L&P. It is the latest venue to open within Trafford Palazzo’s growing range of shopping and leisure brands include Primark, LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre, SEA LIFE, Silentnight, Homesense, Natuzzi and Next Home, King Pins, Nerf AX and Archies.
Located in a 2,454 sq ft unit within Trafford Palazzo (formerly Barton Square), the contemporary restaurant will specialise in the cuisine of southern Italy, which includes pasta, pizza and Panozzo - Neapolitan pizza dough sandwiches. There will also be a variety of desserts including locally sourced ice cream. On top of its menu, Matterello will also be offering unique experiences such as pasta-making courses.
Stockport-born restaurateur Steve Pilling, owner of Matterello, said: “We fully understand that Italian culture is centred around good food, a strong community and of course, delicious wines. And it’s that authentic Italian experience that we’re bringing to Trafford Palazzo.
“From our Putanesca to our Panozzos, all the food will be made and prepared on-site with fresh ingredients to ensure we’re delivering the highest-quality dishes we can. This will make Matterello the go-to place to wine and dine within TraffordCity, and ultimately put smiles on the faces of our customers.
“Since opening, we’ve had a brilliant response and received some exciting feedback from our customers, which is pleasing. The activations on-site have also massively elevated our offering and we’re so pleased to be part of such a forward-thinking community.”
TraffordCity has recently been redesigned to the tune of £75m, providing its community and beyond with a vibrant shopping mall experience that combines retail opportunities and fun, family-friendly activities. The area claims to have 40 million visitors every year.
