Mackie Mayor is now open for Japanese, Mexican and fried chicken breakfasts

The Northern Quarter’s highly acclaimed, dog-friendly, family-friendly food hall Mackie Mayor is now open for breakfast from 9am Tuesday to Friday and their incredible independent food vendors are pulling out all the stops.

You can get your caffeine fix with a cappuccino, espresso, flat white or cup of tea from Atkinsons Coffee who are also offering a range of freshly baked pastries.

If the Continental option isn’t for you, head over to Tender Cow who’s brekky offer includes their popular hash brown bun, house beef sausage bun with tomato jam and fried egg, as well as classics like their smoked bacon ciabatta and poached eggs on toast. They’re also offering freshly squeezed orange juice to wash it all down with.

Mummas Fried Chicken, who specialise in crispy chicken and burgers have put their own spin on French toast by adding toppings like crème fraiche, jam peanut butter, hot honey and…of course, fried chicken!

One of the most unique breakfast offerings, which we’re pretty confident isn’t available anywhere else in Manchester at the moment, is New Wave Ramen’s Japanese breakfast. Start your day in a perfectly zen way with grilled mackerel and citrus ponzu, chi-yu rice and Onsen Egg, miso dashi soup and tsukemono pickles. If you have any room, they’re also serving Menchi Katsu (fried ground meat patties).

But New Wave’s Japanese breakfast isn’t the only globally inspired offering available at Mackie Mayor as Eat Picos have introduced breakfast tacos with Mexican chorizo and egg, or the vegan braised black bean and avocado.

If you’re not in a rush, you can hang around for lunch and enjoy something completely different from breakfast such as sour dough pizza from Honest Crust Sourdough Pizza or delicious Thai dishes from Chilli Banana. If you’re really settled, you may as well make an evening of it with a pint of local craft beer from Jack In The Box or a glass of vino from well-respected wine merchants Reserve At Mackie.

You can view the entire menu, order, and pay on the Alt.Eats app available on the App Store & Google Play, but till service is also available.

Some Covid precautions are still being taken at Mackie Mayor and visitors are asked to enter through the main doors on Eagle Street and exit via Swan Street and there are hand washing and sanitising facilities available.
