Manchester’s vegetarian and vegan scene seems to improve in quality and widen in variety with every coming month so it was no surprise when it was announced last week that one of our own was listed as a top 50 vegan venue (in the world!)
Vegan restaurant Allotment was named in global travel website Big 7s ‘best 50 vegan places to eat around the world’ coming in strong at number 28 and being the only Manchester based restaurant on the list.
For those of you unfortunate enough to be unfamiliar with The Allotments work, they’re known for creative approach to Vegan food with many alternatives and original concepts to make you question why you even ate meat in the first place.
Big 7 had this to say about the Restaurant in their guide: “Allotment Vegan Eatery is a fantastic restaurant located in the heart of Manchester. What makes them stand out is their use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that serve as the foundation for their extensive vegan menu.
“If you’re in the mood for something extraordinary, they offer a 10-course tasting menu that will leave you with an unforgettable experience. But, if you’re after a classic comfort food, you must try their vegan Sunday roast that features a delicious cauliflower steak that rivals the traditional roast.”
Other Vegan restaurants from up and down the country also made the list with Gaultier Soho coming in at Number 45, Vanilla Black in at 42 and Brighton’s Food For Friend placing at the dizzying height of ninth.
