Manchester Camerata begins this December, bringing a captivating and awe-inspiring orchestral programme to Manchester. Celebrate Christmas in style with festive carols, gospel twists and a candlelit tribute to the masters of baroque.
Tickets are limited availability, starting at £3 for Gorton Residents, £5 for students or under 16s (as well as a booking fee) and £10 for under 30s.
Handel’s Messiah by candlelight is unmissable. It will be performed in the round with the choir and orchestra switching perspectives to immerse the audience in a 360 experience, with Artistic Partner Kantos Chamber Choir. The concert promises to put a pause on modern distractions and transport attendees back in time, offering a moment of rejuvenation and reflection before the holiday period commences. This event is on Sunday 3rd December at The Bridgewater Hall and tickets are £8-£33.
The Camerata will join AMC Gospel Choir for the Festive Happening at the Albert Hall on Sunday 10th December in their final performance of the year. As an annual seasonal celebration, featuring yuletide favourites, it is guaranteed to get the whole family into the festive spirit. Tickets start at £4.30 to £34.
There are also events to look forward to in the new year. The winter baroque by candlelight will be the first concert of 2024 (Sunday 28th January), led by Artistic Partner and renowned violinist Daniel Pioro, with solo performances from Manchester Camerata Leader Caroline Pether and Principle Cellist Hannah Roberts. Tickets range from £23-£28.
