WE gave five stars to the food at Enxaneta, the exclusive top floor dining space at Tast Catala. With its own separate kitchen and just 16 covers it defines ‘exclusive’ in this city. Only problem for our editor as he worked his way through the ‘Tres de Quinze’ 15 course tasting menu was medication meant he couldn’t sample any of the wine matches.
Now comes a revelation it doesn’t have to be wine you can partner with chef Paco Perez’s ultra-refined Catalan cuisine. His head chef here, Miquel Villacrosa, and his team are collaborating with our own Manchester Gin to host a special Tasting Menu Dinner of four courses, each matched with an appropriate gin cocktail.
That’s after a further cocktail on arrival, again featuring the award-winning Manchester Gin, which is distilled, ironically enough, in Temperance Street. Their profile will be higher after their planned summer move to new distillery and tasting rooms will in the arches below Manchester Central. The site will include a restaurant and bar as well as offering masterclasses and tours of their gin making process.
There are just 15 places for the Tast event with just a few tickets left at £65 a head. To reserve your place email [email protected].
Tuesday, May 14 6.30pm-9pm. £65. Enxaneta at Tast Catala, 20-22 King Street Manchester, M2 6AG.
