A newcomer to Manchester’s hospitality scene has scooped up the award for Hotel of the Year at the City of Manchester Awards 2023.
Hyatt Regency, the sleek hotel that sits just off Oxford Road opened its doors in the middle of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Offering 212 rooms each with first-class facilities, as well as 804sqm of flexible meeting space, Hyatt Regency is also home to the acclaimed Laureate restaurant.
Guests can enjoy a selection of cocktails and seasonal dishes daily at the Laureate, crafted by its talented team of chefs. More recently the restaurant has launched a menu inspired by the kitchen team’s favourite childhood dishes. Each celebrates the diverse heritage and cultures of its staff, and has proven popular with the hotel’s varied clientele.
The City of Manchester Business Awards seek to honour local companies and corporate pioneers who have made a significant contribution to the city’s economy, and the Hyatt Regency was awarded for its spirit of quality-focused service and innovation following three exponentially successful years in an increasingly competitive local hospitality sector.
Assumpta McDonald, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Manchester, said: “To successfully launch a new hotel when the pandemic first hit and to get to where we are today just a few years later is a massive achievement and testament to the exemplary standards and commitment our team has upheld since we launched.
“From providing reliable world-class customer service, to our commitment to supporting Greater Manchester’s wider community and charitable organisations, we are proud of our place at the forefront of the North-West hospitality scene and are delighted to be recognized as a winner in these coveted awards.
“Our team takes great pride at every step of the customer journey to ensure guests receive the very best in comfort and the outstanding food and beverage offering, and I must take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them.”
