To celebrate Spring Equinox, TNQ Restaurant & Bar is hosting a special vegetarian gourmet evening on Tuesday, March 19 2013.
The Spring Equinox marks the first day of spring, waving goodbye to winter and saying hello to sunshine and warmth (lets hope so!). On this day the tilt of the Earths axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, balancing 12 hours of daylight with 12 hours of darkness.
Jobe Ferguson, proprietor of the fiercely independent Northern Quarter eaterie, says: The five-course menu is in tribute and appreciation to the wonderful food and flavours provided by the earth and synonymous with spring.
Locally-sourced and grown ingredients featuring on the menu include spring onion and nettle soup with pea fritter and rosemary grissini, and fried purple broccoli with beetroot dauphinoise, braised curly kale and shallot puree.
Other dishes on head chef Anthony Fieldens attractive menu include salsify, walnut and sage gnocchi and puds such as blood orange granita and passion fruit fool.
The gourmet evening is priced at £50 per person and includes a cocktail and canapés on arrival, a four course menu and live music. Vegetarian wines are available.
