Flat Iron’s Carcass Club returns to Manchester for one night only next week (Tuesday 21st October), offering a unique take on the classic Flat Iron experience.
The Carcass Club is a series of one-off events that offer guests the chance to enjoy some of the rarest and most exceptional beef. Each carcass is broken down in Flat Iron Covent Garden’s in-house butchery before being served in a selected restaurant— this time, Manchester.
In a first for the Carcass Club, guests will enjoy Hereford beef from Chris Hodgson’s suckler herd at Manor Farm in Yorkshire. Quietly playing a key part in British beef heritage since the 1700s, Hereford is a popular breed in all the notable beef-producing countries and for good reason. It is renowned for converting pasture into well-flavoured tender muscle.
For just £20 per person, guests will be served a Hereford steak, beef dripping chips and sauce Choron - a variation on the classic Béarnaise. As always, guests can enjoy beef-dripping popcorn before their meal and Tahitian vanilla soft serve ice cream to complete the night. The Carcass Club begins at 5pm and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fred Smith, Flat Iron’s Head of Beef, says: “Considering how delicious Hereford beef is, it’s surprising we haven’t featured it in the Carcass Club sooner, but good things come to those who wait and what better venue to celebrate this breed than in Manchester! Both steers have spent two summers on grass with an additional adlib ration of rolled barley, crushed maize, molasses and hay to finish, so this promises to be a real treat.”
Flat Iron’s Carcass Club will take place at Flat Iron Manchester on Tuesday 21st October from 5pm, with the menu priced at £20 per guest. Walk-ins only.
