Meat No Veg teams up with Damson Restaurant

30 May 2012

Meat No Veg is a new London based online butchers representing James Burden Ltd - one of the UKs most prestigious butchers based at the famed Smithfield Market in Central London.

With a plethora of Michelin starred restaurants on their doorsteps, you might think Meat No Veg would have no shortage of potential partner restaurants in the capital with whom to launch their new web-based shop front.

But it was small, independent, neighbourhood restaurant, Damson of Stockport who have been selected to launch the recipe section of the site with them.

Meat No Veg representatives travelled up to Greater Manchester with a selection of their finest cuts of meat for Damson Chef-Partner, Simon Stanley to turn into the exquisite Modern British dishes hes known for.

Recipes ranged from Corned beef hash to pan fried calves liver, mashed potatoes, green beans and deviled sauce. These recipes are now online at Meat No Veg where customers can select and order fine meat, poultry and game then find out how to turn the products into impressive but accessible dishes, courtesy of Chef Stanley.

Meat No Veg is an online meat delivery service like no other. Their butchers (real not ‘virtual’!) know their farmers and all of the meat comes from the finest rare breeds, which have grown up in the very best conditions. They can source absolutely anything a customer needs and prepare it expertly, bespoke to order.

Steve Pilling, partner at Damson said: “We’re delighted to have been selected by the team at James Burden to be part of this exciting new online food project. The website is a fantastic resource for people who care about quality meat and where it comes from, especially as it now includes a little piece of the Damson spirit on there!”.

Oliver Hussey from Meat No Veg said: “Were proud to be working with Damson to launch our online recipe area. It was important to us that the section of the site devoted to showcasing how our product can be turned into delicious dishes was handled by a team who are truly passionate about top quality meat. Simon, Steve and the team at Damson have an unparalleled expertise in this area, and with Damson being one of my favourite restaurants, I can think of no-one better to work with on this!”.
