So, Thursday night saw the launch of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival down at Spinningfields Pavilion. There you can find the Taste Tipi, which has a lovely campfire inside, and lots of other tents where you can learn, dine and get involved in all kinds of foodie fun. I should now tell you about how fantastic the launch party was, how the wine flowed free and how the speeches were inspiring, however, in true TOM style, we rocked up 3 hours late, missed all the free drinks and canapés and only found the tail end of the celebration. I believe it was really good though and, after sinking a couple of Circle Barâs G&Ts whilst sat by the open fire, we left happily content.
The festival, which runs from 3 â 13 October, properly got underway on Friday afternoon with cooking demonstrations from Michael Riemenschneider and David Gale, an Urban Harvest Festival with lots of vegetable excitement, food served by Marmalade, Room, Chez Gerard (great snails) and Chiquito. Marble Beer house and Circle Club are serving the boozy beverages while CUP are providing the brews and cakeâ¦. Thereâs so much going on so go down and get involved; if the weather holds out itâll be brilliant!
