MIRACLE ON EDGE STREET – PEN & PENCIL’S FESTIVE NQ POP-UP

14 November 2016

CHRISTMAS has come early for aficionados of off-the-wall drinking dens. A big mistletoe-decked welcome to The Miracle On Edge Street.

The brainchild of the team behind Northern Quarter bar The Pen & Pencil, the new bauble-hung pop-up on Edge Street promises Christmas cocktails, seasonal songs and festive cheer for just one month.

So expect to slurp P&P-style signature cocktails out of an array of vessels from snowman mugs to those vintage glasses granny saves for her festive sherry binge.

Opening on December 1, the bar will trade for just 15 days, Wednesday to Saturday until Friday December 23 from 4pm until late (1am weekends). DJs will play disco every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night creating the party vibe.

Drinks specially created by the team will include: #newyearnewme with Belenkaya vodka, home-made winterberry cordial and Hobo East Coast Cyder; Prosec-Ho Ho Ho with Prosecco and home-made mulled wine syrup; and North Pole Addiction with Santa Teresa Claro rum, Mozart Dark Chocolate liqueur and Frangelico.

The bar will also offer wine, a selection of spirits and a range of Chilean craft beers on draft including Nazca IPA, Brave Red Ale, Real Golden Ale, Rebel Imperial Pilsner and Brutal IPA.

P&P head honcho Dan Pollard tells us: “The Miracle On Edge Street is going to be the best Christmas pop-up ever; the plan is to take over a little space in the Northern Quarter and turn it into the ultimate Christmas den.

“Think tinsel, presents, baubles and drinks served in Christmassy vessels of all kinds. Sometimes people are just a bit too cool when it comes to celebrating but for me Christmas should be kitsch and more than a little bit cheesy. Wear your Christmas jumpers for special treats!”
