Companio Bakery, Manchester's first community supported bakery, are sending their bike stall to train stations across central Manchester, providing more commuters with an easy way to buy local artisan bread.
Thanks to his new bike trailer, owner Russell Goodwin will pedal his wares at Manchester Victoria Train Station on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Salford Central Train Station on Wednesdays. Keep up to date with timings at Companio's twitter account here.
The bakery, which has a unit on Radium Street Ancoats, aims to fund their fit-out via a Bakery Bread Loan Scheme, whereby donations are repaid by either artisan bread or baking lessons. So far, the bakery falls 4,000 short of its 30,000 target.
Goodwin has also revealed plans to launch the Companio Bread Club which will enable local people to pre-order breads and collect them later in the evening. This will shortly be available from the Ancoats restaurant, Rudy's Pizza (Who recently got a FIVE STAR review - no biggie - Read the full review here).
