More summer fun in Spinningfields with the monthly Makers Market

6 June 2015

A NEW monthly market is set to launch at Spinningfields this summer, showcasing award-winning local food & drink, arts and crafts, music performances and a whole lot more.

Held on the third weekend of each month, the Spinningfields Makers Market and Finders’ Keepers Market will launch on Saturday June 20 and Sunday June 21, between 11am-5pm.

They will take up residency in two locations on the estate, with the Makers Market in situ on The Avenue and Finders Keepers taking place on Hardman Boulevard, leading down to Leftbank and the newly-opened Kitchens.

The Makers Market, renowned for its events throughout the North West, will offer a combination of food and  drink, arts and crafts producers and artisans as well as music, performances, cookery demonstrations and activities for children.

The Finders Keepers has more of a flea market feel to it, and will showcase vintage clothing and accessories, furniture and finer collectibles, kitchenware, decorative items and unusual and quirky accent pieces.

In addition to the markets themselves, there will be two stages, with a range of local musicians and performers on show over the course of the weekend.

For the launch weekend, the Lego Walk will also be available for visitors to try, with all money raised going to The Christie. The walk, which encourages people to kick off their shoes and see if they can complete the intrepid walk over a lego pathway, will be open from 11am-5pm both days.

Local artisans or performers that are interested in getting involved can contact Lisa at the Makers Market by emailing [email protected].
